The Fantastik Lab space in Valencia hosts the month of February The strange and personal imaginary presented by the drawings of Juan Fuster,/Johnfjunior. 

The exhibition entitled “Tierra de sueños/Slumberland” refers to the country where Little Nemo travels while he sleeps, the character of Winsor McCay’s comic book, in this case Johnfjunior shows a much more sinister world but full of beauty at the same time. 

The exhibition is composed of drawings that were exhibited last year in London at the now disappeared Liquid Gold Studios and is expanded with drawings done after “the Hampstead silly tunes” project, title of the author’s last exhibition, so the drawings are seen for first time in Spain. From that project several paths and branches are born, so we can see in this new exhibition the evolution of the project from its beginning until now, Juan Fuster maintains the black and white and the work on paper. Johnfjunior defends the economy of mediums to create a world, “his intention is to create a universe to introduce the viewer in an adventure.

Johnfjunior tries to create a world where reality and a fantastic and emotional world intersect as if they were superimposed layers but that at certain points connect and create interferences and a space that plays with perception.

The exhibition is presented as a collaborative and multi-exhibition project as it contemplates two more events:

A second exhibition on Saturday February 17 at 6.00 pm where the Fantastik Lab room will mutate with the contribution of the artists Disneylexya, Vicente Aguado and Natuka Honrubia, under the title “La siesta del borrego”, an experiment on monstrosity, will be held a panel discussion guided by Sebastian Escudero, the head of the cultural platform A4 that can be found on youtube, at the round table where they will talk about desktop publishing and monsters and will present a folder of digital prints in a limited edition of 50 copies, made by the 4 artists.

The day 24 at 12.00 will take place the final party Slumberland where the 4 artists Disneylexya, Vicente Aguado, Natuka Honrubia and johnfjunior invite all visitors who come to participate in a mural as an exquisite corpse to make all together a collective work.
